My
father Chubby Jackson was an avid believer in being an originator
and not an imitator. He continuously displayed humor in his
performances and brought his incredible musical talent to the
forefront with such ease and excitement.
I remember as a little girl watching him conduct his big bands
and playing his bass with an infectious energy inspiring the
musicians with his jovial cheer leading abilities. I marvel
in these memories...
It is because of my love and admiration for my father and his
accomplishments in jazz and television that I passionately assist
new artists in reaching their desires of global musical exposure.
I know in my heart that he would be very proud and would cheer
me on that I'm keeping jazz alive. I miss him with all my heart
and will always remember his special gifts and how he made me
laugh, the talks we had, our special moments as father and daughter.
He taught me that life and performance is all about being yourself
and you can't go wrong....he'd say "no negatives, we are
creating"...that has helped me through my own creative
process and it makes me smile when I remember those words of
wisdom.....

Thanks
Dad, for your love, laughter and the way we danced together,
your lessons and gifts of who you are will forever resonate
through me and through the people that journey through
my life.
I miss you more than words can say....
Your loving daughter,
Jaijai
